We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Sales Manager to lead our efforts in utility relationships and driving virtual power plant adoption using Tesla’s suite of residential energy products, including Powerwall. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the future of sustainable energy solutions by promoting the integration of renewable energy sources into existing power systems.

What You’ll Do
  • Utility Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong partnerships with utility companies, key stakeholders, and decision-makers to promote the adoption of virtual power plant technology using Tesla residential energy products.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement strategic sales plans to drive virtual power plant adoption, targeting utilities, municipalities, and energy service providers.
  • Product Education: Be an expert on Tesla’s suite of residential energy products, including Powerwall, and effectively communicate their benefits to potential partners and customers within the utility sector.
  • Identify Opportunities: Analyze the market and identify potential opportunities for virtual power plant projects, taking into account the unique needs and challenges of each utility.
  • Proposal and Contract Negotiation: Prepare comprehensive proposals and negotiate contracts with utility partners to secure virtual power plant installations and partnerships.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and operations, to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Market Research: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies to identify competitive advantages and enhance sales strategies.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on sales performance, project status, and potential growth opportunities.
What You’ll Bring
  • Proven Sales Experience: Demonstrated track record of success in sales, particularly within the renewable energy sector, utility services, or related fields.
  • Energy Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the energy industry, including utility operations, grid management, and renewable energy integration.
  • Technical Acumen: Familiarity with Tesla’s suite of residential energy products, such as Powerwall, and the ability to explain their technical specifications and benefits to potential partners.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation abilities to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders, including utility executives, engineers, and government officials.
  • Negotiation Skills: Proficient in contract negotiations and adept at finding win-win solutions that align with both parties’ objectives.
